Give Peas A Chance

Nora likes peas as much as she likes sweet potatoes and she seems to like food in general. Last night while out to dinner with friends I paused while I was ordering and the whole table cracked up because she was grabbing at her spoon and bowl in my hands.

We have had a busy few weeks! Nora went to the public pool and loved it. Nora went to "secret beach" and sat in the river with mommy and daddy and loved it! She hung out with her Grammie. She met her drunkle Jay. She sat in a high chair for the first time!

She also is still dealing with an ear infection and sinus congestion. She got to go to the emergency room for the first time as well. She was wheezing just a little bit, but had resolved upon arrival to the ED. I just wrote that like I do at work. The Emergency Department staff at Dell complimented us on what a happy baby we have. They did not find anything there, but on the follow up at her regular doctor Nora was wheezing again. We now have a nebulizer at home. Fortunately we have had to only use it a few times, and I think it is more paranoid parents than sick kid :)

However, Nora also got to eat real food for the first time! Turns out she really likes sweet potato. She is also improving rapidly on sitting up by herself. Nora also loves giving kisses, by that I mean she grabs the sides of your face and smashes her open mouth anywhere on your face. I have photo and video evidence, and here it is:

Nora's lingering cold has resulted in some wheezing which of course meant a trip to the emergency room and one long day at the doctor's office. She's fine but is doing some breathing treatments at home as needed. She's such a good baby; she barely fusses during the treatments and she smiled at every person we met in the ER. We have a follow up appointment next week so hopefully the breathing treatments are temporary.

She smiled at every person we encountered even when she was hungry and sleepy.

The next morning we went to see our regular pediatrician.  

Sleepy but still in a good mood.  By this point I was cranky but she was fine!

Sit Ups

She's getting better at sitting every day!  While she was working in her sitting skills bonked her head for the first time day but she recovered quickly with no visible damage.

Nora went swimming for the first time this weekend but since it was just the two of us there aren't any pictures. She loved the water so hopefully there will be more opportunities for pictures. 

Sittin' around

The saga of the ear infection continues but it's not stopping Nora from doing all of her favorite things: drinking milk, sleeping, smiling, kicking Blue, and playing with her toys. She's wanting to spend less time on her back playing and more time propped up in a sitting position. She can even sit up by herself for a few seconds at a time!  

Swimming!

Nora went to the doctor today for a follow up appointment and she now weighs 14 lbs 12 oz. She's getting to be such a big girl!  Later this afternoon we all went swimming in the neighborhood pool.
