Video of Nora's first hair cut

Ms Kiira came over and helped Nora with a bang trim. See Nora express her opinion! Hear me fail to distract her with itsy bitsy spider! Hear Aunt Amy give running commentary over FaceTime!

The Further Adventures of Ms. Nora B.

A series of pictures depicting the recent adventures of Ms. Nora  B.
Helping Mommy clean her room by hanging out in her crib with all of the stuffed animals

So many stuffed animals

Sitting on a giant metal lion sculpture while out shopping

Nora's new trick! She can climb up on top of the kitchen table.

Blue sometimes gets tired on the way back from the park and he hitches a ride.

She spent a lot of time getting Jumbo into this chair. Mommy may have helped at the end.

All of that fun requires a snack. Sharing a smoothie on the kitchen floor with Daddy.

Vacation

Here are some pictures from our trip to Louisiana at the beginning of July. Of course, I only took pictures of Nora.  Enjoy!
First room service breakfast in bed! We drove to Houston the first night and spent the night in a hotel. There were chickens on this episode of Curious George which Nora loved.

Watching Sesame Street in the car.

At the Blue Dog Cafe where Uncle Jesse works.

With the dudes at Mama Laura's house

At Cafe du Monde having a beignet

Strapped to Dug's back in Fat Tuesdays. They got kicked out shortly after this.

On the levee looking at the boats

At Twin's Bakery in Lafayette having a gingerbread man

Visiting Mama Morine in the nursing home

Playing with her cousin Brie

Attempting to attract the attention of her teenage cousin, Grace

Coloring before her first meal at Dean-O's in Lafayette

On the way home we stopped in Houston and went to a park

And then met up with some Houston friends before making our way home.

Adventures Near and Far

I am always up for an adventure and its been so fun to have a buddy to have adventures with me during the day.
Nora and I took Blue for a walk in the neighborhood. I wanted to test out the Boba carrier. She likes it!

Nora sitting in my lap while I attempt to work.

Work buddies selfie

Since Nora and my test run of the Boba went so well, we went on a hike on a trail not too far from our house.

It was a nice trail with lots of cool plants, wildlife, and plenty of bugs.

Post-hike snack in the parking lot

Nora trying out finger painting for the first time. She was more interested in painting her arms and legs than the paper.

Eating a homemade popsicle. She really, really wanted it to come off the stick and spent as much time yelling in frustration as she did eating the popsicle.

Hanging out in the park in the Mueller development. There's a great path around the lake that has ducks and geese to look at and a playground.

Nora didn't want to ride in the stroller, but Blue didn't mind.

Drawing with chalk on the chalkboard door. She likes to walk around with the cup of chalk so there are bits of chalk all over the house.

Friends New and Old

One of the benefits of our now, slower-paced lifestyle is more time to see friends new and old.
At dinner with one of Mommy's high school friends and her two kids.

Playing in the sprinkler with Kiira

Dinner at Kimi and Kody's house

Nora loves animals and Captain and The Doctor (the dogs) were no exception.

Reading Rainbow

If you've ever been to our house, you know that we have more than our share of books. I have a degree in English so it's no surprising that my collection of books is extensive and Dug has his share of classic sci-fi to add to the heap. As a result of our love of books, Nora has quite the collection of books herself that can be found in every room of the house and in my car. She "asks" to have books read to her a zillion times a day by putting a book in your lap (sometimes with more force than necessary) and then signing "please". She also likes to sit and flip through her books; I can't resist snapping pictures of her when she's sitting in a grown up chair with a pile of books!

In the office, with Blue keeping her company

Do not disturb, Mommy! I'm reading.

May the May Be With you

Hello, all!  The month of May has been absolutely jam packed since I am wrapping up my time at UT and launching into the world of part-time, freelance/contract work from home.  Dug and I have been struggling with our mismatched schedules for the last year and this is the solution we came up with. Never a dull moment in the Schulz household :)

Anywho, here are some pictures from the month of may and please expect more frequent (maybe even weekly!) blog posts from this pair of significantly-less-over-booked parents.

Star Wars shirts for May the 4th! Also, Nora requesting that we sing "Head and Shoulders" for the 10,000 time that day

Reading a book! Nora is really into books right now.

She has discovered corn on the cob and likes it almost as much as she likes books.

Books are great in the car, too.

Working on eating with a fork

But hands are still the utensil of choice

Wearing a hat to keep the sun out of her face

Playing on the splash pad that Grammie brought

She was so frustrated that this slide wouldn't stay in place for her to climb up it.

Daddy helping her sit on the slide.

Blowing bubbles with Grammie

Eating cheerios in the waiting room at the ENT. Note that she has no shoes because Mommy and Daddy forgot to put them back on after nap time.  Ooops.
